I have the great pleasure to announce that twice a month I will be visiting two hospitals in London offering #lullabyhour for the babies and mothers in the Imperial Neonatal units. Bonding, tears, a bit of relaxing ….Exploring and pioneering in a very new way…❤️ Music Therapy is so important for everyone, and even the tiniest of babies respond to it. The amazing charity behind this is Music in Hospitals & Care and there are also many people behind scenes who have made it happen. I feel very privileged to be chosen to be a part of something so special and personal.
Here’s a photo of a lovely mother and baby I sang to yesterday. It was pretty amazing to see how cathartic the music was for them both. I was blown away by the staff at the two hospitals, the care and kindness shown towards these poorly and tiny little babies and their Mummy’s and Daddy’s was so moving. I can’t wait to go back again in two weeks time to meet more wonderful parents and their babies. Their strength is inspiring.
On Tuesday I had the great pleasure of supporting The Feeling at The O2 Academy in Bristol! It was by far one of my favourite gigs, incredible crowd! It was lovely to see my friend Kevin Jeremiah doing his thing on stage. We have been collaborating on some new music coming out on my “Atoms” EP next year! Here are some photos of the night. ❤️
I’m so excited to be back with PledgeMusic for the third time to help raise funds to support my new EP, ATOMS.
I’ve been thinking about how the industry is changing so much with the emphasis now on digital and streaming, which is why I’ve decided that I would like to release an EP rather than a full album. That’s not to say there won’t be another album in the future! But right now I have a selection of five songs which fit perfectly together as they are.
But, recording and producing an album doesn’t come cheap! There are so many costs involved, which usually a major label would cover, but for a self-funded artist like me I need the kind help of all my loyal friends! There are lots of exciting goodies and experiences available, so I hope you’ll find something you’ll love and by pledging you’ll be part of “Team Emma” with access to all my updates and exclusive content.
I’ve been working hard on new material since the release of To My Roots last year and I was able to perform one of the new songs, the title track from the EP, on tour and had the most wonderful response to it, which really spurred me on to get in the studio!
The five track EP will also feature two songs that I’ve collaborated on with the amazing Kevin Jeremiah from the band The Feeling. He’s an amazing person to work with and we have so much in common musically! Also the wonderful Sam Rommer is co-producing the EP with me. His talent, patience and musical ability has really helped me develop the new material. I’ve been working on the new songs with some of my favourite writers, including Jessica Sharman and Charlie Midnight. I just cannot WAIT for you to hear them!
I’ve tried to offer something for everyone, so as well as the EP itself, there are tees, calendars, mugs, capos and more. There’s also some extra special experiences, like Skype calls, House Concerts, Shopping Days, Dinner with ME! I’ll even write and record a brand new song, for one special pledger!
Thank you so much to everyone who came along. I had such a fabulous time on stage performing to you and then meeting you all afterwards was the cherry on the cake!! I can’t wait to get back out on the road again soon, but until then I’ll be in the studio finishing up my new music!!
I’ve had a busy couple of months! I’ve been working on expanding my YouTube Channel to share with you some my favourite cooking recipes (To my Roots Kitchen), show you some tips and tricks on how to play my songs (Uke Can Do It) and of course, I’m inviting you into the studio to see “The Making of To My Roots”! Head over to youtube.com/estevensmusic and don’t forget to hit subscribe! I hope you enjoy. Much Love xx
