Carfest for Children in Need!
Yesterday was AMAZING! I managed to play two festivals in one day! I now understand where the saying “livin’ the dream” comes from!
I played at Party for Patrick during the day, which is for such a wonderful and heartfelt cause – please go to http://www.patrickevansfoundation.co.uk/p4p for more information. Such a lovely warm welcome by everyone and it was great to play some of my news songs off EP3 – especially Hey Summer! Here’s a snap of Sam and me playing:
Soon after I finished playing I was whisked off by my manager to Carfest. WOW. I mean, just… WOW! I arrived and had been given my own trailer – amongst Jools Holland, Scouting for Girls and Amy MacDonald!
What an amazing day!! I am so grateful to Chris Evans for inviting me to perform my songs and the crowd were AMAZING! To be applauded for my song “Sunflower” after I spoke about the inspiration behind it – before I even began to sing was so humbling. It made it hard for me not to cry! But I got through it just fine. I just wanted to go out into the crowd and give every single person a BIG SPARKLY HUG!! To have everyone clapping during “Once” and “A Place Called You” was AWESOME! Here is my favourite shot of the day:
One of my highlights of the whole evening was being personally invited back by Chris Evans to the VIP camp sight (or should I say “glamp site!?) where I was asked to serenade everyone by the fire with Sam and a lovely girl, also called Emma!
It was a surreal and magical day and I want to say a special thank you to Sammy, of course for being, well.. Sammy! My amazingly talented guitarist! Also huge thanks to the festival organisers, to everyone behind the wonderful charity that is Children in Need, to Hitten and Chris, and Pudsey (for the hug!)
